CCR POST 4
GOLF! still mixing the two and creating a tutorial!
script
In the beginning of the school year when I first started in aice media, that’s when we first began to learn the technique needed to complete this component
We learnt that every filming decision has an effect, therefore you must use the right ones to create the desired effect.
Filters
For the scenes in which we can see the abuse occurring between Ricky who is played by Ricardo Rodrigues and Scarlett who is played by Camila Moreno, I put a black and white filter to emphasize the idea that love hope, happiness and all things good have been stripped away. Also for the scenes of them being loving, I put a dreamy filter over it to make the memory almost seem hazy, like she can’t remember the last time they were like that.
We also used specific angles to create the desired effect like low angles to create a sense of intimidation, close ups to show intimacy, and establishing shots to establish the context of the movie which are all techniques I learned earlier this year but perfected and put into action in this project.
Freeze
Take your time with it
In golf, you need to take your time and breathe, tensing up will cost you the perfect shot. In filming, I too realized that it is important to have breaks , we used two kinds.
The scenes of the car
We added freezes to the begging of the car crash scene to create the idea that she shouldn’t have been in the car due to all the things that have happened leading up to that point that she is suddenly realizing is bad, the second kind of break was a black screen. After the crash occurred, there was a black screen which emphasized the sounds of the amblujeces, police and hospital room to show the gravity of the situation.
In the begging of the editing process I didn’t realize there was a need for these breaks that create suspense and drive the narrative, and my original film left them out but after adding them in I realized the significance of them.
Earlier this year we were tasked with creating a sound piece that depicted a story which helped me understand how important is was but this project really tested my skills. I recorded many scripted lines my parents were kind enough to read and mixed them all together to create a recording of many conflicting voices to add to the beginning edit of scenes to build up the suspense and drama.

I'm mixing golf and filming together by comparing the two in a fun and upbeat tutorial.
question 3
Script
When trying to film a movie, you also need to start with the right equipment, we used our phones to get a more honest and down to earth feel, we centered our story around two teenagers and felt it right to use our phones to capture the sudden moments just like they would.
We also used a tripod that the kind owners of Mia jewelers of Weston, which is where I work part time, let us borrow to film some of the more loving scenes.
Just like you have to edit the way you do things in golf because every club requires a different stance, every technique requires a different site. To edit, I used a mixture of online sites. I used Imovie to piece together each of the scenes and add filters and saturate certain scenes to emphasize the right feel, as well as adding voiceovers of me and my family in the beginning moments and at the end. I used adobe to make the opening credit sequence, I wrote the credits as well as adding animations for them ti fade in and out of the screen at specific times. I used CapCut to create a suspenseful edit of scenes for the beginning to create that psychological drama feel and then sped it up on Snapchat using their wind-up feature
ust like in golf, your movie openings need the right sound, to do this we looked through a range of websites like YouTube and SoundCloud to find non copywrite music. The music was a really important feature that we knew would add a lot of depth and we knew we wanted the beginning scenes to be very psychologically disturbing and wanted the music to elevate that, and we wanted the ending scenes of cami walking to feel stronger like there was hope and a sense that the rest of the movie would show her gaining more and more strength to leave the toxicity
answering the question in a recorded [PowerPoint, i used bullet points summarizing my speech to answer the question.

o distribute our psychological drama, we could begin by submitting it to teen-focused and local independent film festivals. These festivals are ideal for showcasing a story that resonates with a younger audience and deals with real-life issues such as toxic relationships. By targeting smaller, independent festivals, we increase our chances of standing out and building an audience. Online submission platforms, like FilmFreeway, would be a practical way to easily submit our film to a range of festivals that focus on short films or social themes, gaining exposure and potentially attracting distributors or film critics.
For marketing, social media would be a key tool in reaching a broad and engaged audience, especially teens who are the target demographic. By creating Instagram and TikTok accounts, we could share behind-the-scenes content, teasers, and engage with followers through polls, Q&A sessions, and discussions around the themes of the film. These platforms are excellent for viral marketing and would allow us to connect directly with our audience. Targeted ads on platforms like Instagram and TikTok would help us reach specific age groups and individuals interested in drama, mental health, and relationship-based conten
Given that the film is made by high schoolers and focuses on a teen relationship, organizing screenings at local schools and partnering with youth organizations would be an effective way to engage with our target audience. We could host post-screening Q&A sessions with the filmmakers, discussing the themes of the movie, the real-life implications of toxic relationships, and mental health awareness. Word-of-mouth would play a significant role here, as students can share their thoughts with peers, amplifying the impact. By using community networks, we ensure the film reaches those who can relate to the issues presented and benefit from the discussion it sparks.
GROUP! GROUP! GROUP!
HEY 😊 I am back and better than ever! Me and my partner Adrianna have found our scarlet and Ricky, they will be played funnily enough by our friend Ricardo, often referred to as Ricky, and our other friend Cami will play scarlet. We have organized to film today after school and I am so excited, and I hope you are too!
Today in class we were placed in groups again for another group reflection meeting. I was placed in group 1 with Fabi, Leila, Noah and Nathaniel. We all were told to go to the left side of the room and join up together with the other members of our assigned group. It started off pretty awkward, but as time went on we developed a thoughtful discussion that gave me insight into my own and hot to improve.
We all talked about the progress we have made in our individual projects; Nathaniel hasn't started filming yet, he is planning on starting soon he just kept procrastinating starting, Fabi has half of her filming done, and she has begun editing, Leila has started filming, and is reshooting scene because her forehead was cut off and she wanted it to be a close up, and lastly Noah told us he finished filming and is now in the editing process. I explained to them that we had started filming but hadn't finished the majority and we were planning on completing it all that same day.
I got advice on how to become more organized and compartmentalize each component and get each thing done one at a time to reduce stress and it really improved the way i approached each part and made it all less overwhelming. This group meeting was really great, and I was really happy with what I gained from it.
In our movie opening, our main characters, Ricky and Scarlett, are involved in a toxic relationship. The opening challenges and appeases normal conventions in its portrayal of love and conflict because while it covers a commonly explored trope of a toxic relationships in the drama and thriller genre, which often they focus on unhealthy dynamics like manipulation or jealousy which we will be doing, we are also going above and beyond in our approach by centering the story over the toxic nature of their bond and illustrating how such relationships create internal and external conflict, which drives the rest of the story.
Our film also criticizes the normalcy of romanticizing the idea of love, many films portray love as this transformative and amazing force of happiness but because our film centers around abuse ad hate it critiques the idealization. Instead of presenting the perfect couple we present the darker side of relationships that appear to be perfect, showing how power imbalances, emotional abuse, or manipulation can manifest, offering a more critical perspective on love that is not really often seen.
Also, because we are focusing on Ricky and Scarlett relationship, we are also going to present broader social issues like gender dynamics, mental health, and the normalization of toxic behaviors in society. The power imbalance between the two and the need for Scarlett to slowly gain the strength needed to leave highlights societal expectations influence unhealthy relationship patterns and the portrayal of the psychological problems that come with being part of this type of relationship can take on both individuals can open a conversation about mental health struggles like anxiety or self-esteem issues. Ultimately, the film challenges societal norms by portraying the complexities and dangers of toxic relationships, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own perceptions of love and emotional well-being.
Hey Cambridge! A fun fact about me is that I work at a high-end jewelry store in Weston. We sell, we do repairs and we even design. It was important to me that in our project we included well thought out details that capture the audience's attention, and I thought there was no better way than to use jewelry to create symbol for our characters given that there are so many different stones with so many meanings, and my boss, Mr. Terremagara, was kind enough to let use his products in our scenes.
I have finally curated the perfect jewelry set for Scarlett, it is comprised of a stunning multi-colored tourmaline gold cocktail ring, a yellow gold pear-shaped diamond bangle bracelet, a yellow gold rubies-by-the-yard bracelet, and a pre-owned rose gold diamond and pink gemstone Chopard Happy Hearts bracelet. These colors emphasize femininity, kindness, and love. these will highlight scarlets innocence as we want her sense of style to underscore her story.
Each piece represents different
parts of the girl's experience in a toxic relationship. The diamond bangle
shows her hope and strength, but also the emotional pain she feels. The rubies
represent the strong and confusing emotions she goes through, like love and
hurt. The rose gold bracelet with pink stones reflects her desire for love and
care, but also the past emotional wounds she carries. Together, these bracelets
show her struggles, confusion, and emotional journey.
